Privacy policy

Ledgerline Books ("the tool") is an internal bookkeeping tool operated by Nor Cal Ornamental LLC ("the Company") for its own QuickBooks Online company. This policy explains what the tool accesses and what happens to that data.

What the tool accesses

With the authorization of a Company QuickBooks administrator, the tool reads accounting data from the Company's own QuickBooks Online company through Intuit's Accounting API. This includes customers, vendors, accounts, transactions and reports. It does not access any other business's data.

Where data is kept

Access tokens and any data the tool retrieves are stored on the Company's own computer. This website does not collect, receive or store QuickBooks data.

AI assistance

The tool uses Anthropic's Claude, an AI assistant, to read QuickBooks data and answer the Company's questions about its own books. Data is sent to Anthropic only to answer those requests. The Company does not send QuickBooks data for the purpose of training AI models. Any change the assistant proposes to QuickBooks is reviewed and approved by a person before it is made.

Sharing

The Company does not sell, rent or share QuickBooks data with anyone, and does not use it for advertising. Data is used only for the Company's own bookkeeping. It may be disclosed if required by law.

Security

App credentials and access tokens are kept in protected files on the Company's computer and are never published or shared. Access is limited to people the Company authorizes.

Disconnecting and deletion

The connection can be revoked at any time, from the tool or from the QuickBooks account's app settings. Once revoked, the tool can no longer access QuickBooks, and its stored tokens and retrieved data can be deleted from the Company's computer.
